How to Play

BattleFeud is a team trivia gameshow. One player hosts a game and picks the topics — anything from ’90s sitcoms to breakfast foods — and we write a round of ranked-answer questions for each one.

Setup

Three steps to a game

1

The host picks the topics

Anything goes — ’90s sitcoms, breakfast foods, office pet peeves. Each topic becomes a round of ranked-answer questions, written for you.

2

Everyone joins with the code

Players join from their phones with the five-character lobby code on the host’s screen — something like WAFFL — no downloads, no accounts.

3

Split into two teams and race

Sort into two teams and race to guess the top answers before the other team does. Keep the sides roughly even.

The face-off

Every round opens head-to-head

TEAM 1

vs

TEAM 2
15s

Both teams get the same question at once and race to fire in their best guess before the clock runs out. Landing an answer scores it and takes control of the board — if both teams land one, the better-ranked answer wins control, and a dead heat on the same answer goes to the faster submission.

The rules

Rounds, strikes, and scoring

Rounds
Every question hides five answers, ranked best to worst. The face-off winner takes control first, then guesses one answer at a time — after each correct one, choose: keep the board, or pass it to the other team for a +2 bonus.
Strikes
A wrong guess — or letting the clock run out — earns a strike, and control swaps to the other team. Strikes add up across both teams: the fourth ends the question, and any unfound answers are missed. If nobody lands the opening guess in two tries, the question is tossed for a fresh one.
Scoring
Answers pay by rank. The first team to reach the points target — 200 by default — wins the game; a dead-even tie is a draw.
